So what is this website all about?

Welcome to my website and thank you for stopping by! I first tried my hand at genealogical research about eight years ago. I decided to give it another try at the beginning of 2018, intent on checking and documenting sources much more formally than last time. My reasons for creating this website were to:

  • Provide a semi-formal repository of family documents I have in my possession (or at least have direct access to), so others can reference them in their own research.
  • Document personal interviews with my family and make those available as source documents for people to use in their research.
  • Make other documents (e.g. things like census and marriage forms) easily available to my family so they can enjoy seeing some of the results of my research.

How can I help?

Great question and thanks for asking! I’ll assume you’re a family member and have an interest in what I am doing here. First and foremost, do you have any documents I could share here? I’m especially interested in old photos! Those are by far the most interesting things to share here. (As a quick aside, I will not be posting photos or private documents about living family members without their permission.)

Secondly, but just as important, when you look through the articles on my site, you may well find errors or omissions. Please bring these to my attention! It’s a given that I will make some mistakes, so by all means, please help me out.

Why can’t I find an actual “tree” on your site?

I hope to do that one day, but for now, it’s too involved and I don’t have the time.  If you’re a family member and would like to view my tree on Ancestry.com, let me know and I can get you set up with permissions to see it on that site, but you’ll need to create a free account to do so.
